Wyoming, Western Nebraska, and Western South Dakota Weekly Hay Summary
w/e May 10, 2008

     Prices steady. Trade and movement remain light.  Demand moderate to good.  
Available supplies limited in most areas.  Reports that a lot of alfalfa acres 
are being planted into corn or beans this spring.  Eastern Wyoming and western 
Nebraska remain dry.  All prices dollars per ton FOB stack in medium to large 
square bales and rounds, unless otherwise noted.  Horse hay in small squares.  
Prices are from the most recent reported sales.

      Eastern Wyoming
New Crop: Alfalfa contract 119.00 plus .70 per point over 170 RFV; large squares 
90.00.
Old Crop: Alfalfa - Supreme 135.00-150.00; Premium 120.00-135.00; Good 110.00-
120.00; Fair-Good 95.00-115.00, 115.00-120.00 delivered; Utility-Fair 90.00; 
ground and delivered 120.00-135.00. Grass - Premium small squares 140.00; 3x3 
126.00.  Dehydrated Alfalfa Pellets (17 percent protein) 179.00 delivered 
wholesale.

   Central and Western Wyoming 
New Crop: Alfalfa contract first and second cuttings 95.00.
Old Crop: Alfalfa - Supreme 120.00-130.00; Premium 110.00-125.00, small squares 
for horses 140.00-190.00 and 7.00/bale; Fair-Good 100.00-110.00; Fair 80.00-
90.00.  Alfalfa/Grass - Premium 90.00-110.00, 150.00-165.00 delivered; Good 
70.00.  Mixed Grass - Premium 110.00-120.00, 130.00-145.00 delivered.  Oat Hay - 
Premium 110.00; Good 65.00-70.00.  Sorghum Hay - 75.00. 

   Western Nebraska
New Crop: Alfalfa contract 105.00-110.00; Supreme 150.00.
Old Crop: Alfalfa - Supreme 130.00-150.00; Premium 115.00-120.00; Fair-Good 
90.00-120.00; Fair 75.00-80.00 delivered; small squares for horses 150.00 and 
6.00/bale; ground and delivered 105.00-130.00.  Mixed Grass - Premium 95.00.  
Oat Hay - Premium 90.00; Good 75.00.  Milo Hay 80.00.  Wheat Straw 50.00.  

   Western South Dakota
New Crop: Alfalfa contract 135.00 delivered.
Old Crop: Alfalfa - Premium 90.00-110.00; Good 70.00-90.00, 105.00-130.00 
delivered; Fair 60.00-70.00, 80.00-105.00 delivered.  Alfalfa/Grass - Premium 
80.00-110.00; Fair-Good 60.00-75.00.  Oat Hay 60.00-75.00.  Mixed Grass 80.00, 
100.00 delivered.  Brome Grass 75.00.
