USDA-GX: Grain Prices Illinois Interior Country Elevators

Springfield, IL - Wed - May 7, 2008 - USDA-IL Dept of Ag Market News

Illinois Grain Prices at Country Elevators

This is Wednesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the
USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Wednesday afternoon, with
corn and soybeans higher and wheat lower. Corn prices were strengthened
by the wet weather spreading into the cornbelt causing more planting
delays. Rainfall, especially in southern Illinois, has stalled planting
today, though many in central Illinois have made good progress since
Sunday.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled
corn bids were 5 to 6 cents higher at 5.48-5.60. Soybean bids were 32
cents higher at 12.32-12.42.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were
5 to 9 cents higher at 5.63-5.76. Soybean bids were 28 to 32 cents higher
at 12.44-12.66.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 5 to 9 cents
higher at 5.63-5.83. Soybean bids were 23 to 28 cents higher at 12.44-12.72.
Wheat bids were mostly 10 to 12 cents lower at 6.10-6.68. Milo bids were
mostly 6 cents higher at 5.08-5.63.
