Direct Trade: 
In the direct slaughter cattle trade in the Five Major Marketing Areas, 
Texas/Oklahoma; Kansas; Nebraska; Colorado; Iowa/Minnesota.  Compared to 
Wednesday dressed sales in Neb and Iowa/Minnesota sold steady from 147.00-
149.00, other areas inactive.
   Steers: Live basis; (all Grades: 561 head) 92.00-93.50, weighted average 
92.70.  Dressed basis; (all Grades: 6,848 head) 146.00-149.00, weighted average 
147.85.     
   Heifers: live basis; (all Grades: 1,640 head) 92.00-93.50, weighted average 
92.55.  Dressed Basis; (all Grades: 7,163 head) 147.00-149.00, weighted average 
147.91.                                 

Walnut Livestock Sales, Inc. Walnut, IL Estimated receipts this week: 382
Compared to last week, slaughter steers and heifers are trading 2.00-2.50 
higher.  SLAUGHTER STEERS: Choice 2-3: 1150-1500 lbs 93.50-96.50.
SLAUGHTER HEIFERS: Choice 2-3: 1100-1300 lbs 91.75-96.85.

Tama Slaughter Cattle auction: Tama, IA.  Receipts 603.  Compared to last week 
slaughter steers and heifers traded mostly 1.00 to 2.00 higher.  Steers: Choice 
2-4 1050-1500 lbs 92.50-97.85.  Heifers: Choice 2-4 1000-1400 lbs 93.75-97.50.

OKC West - El Reno Livestock Market 
   Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher.  Slaughter bulls 2.00-3.00 higher.
Packer demand good as meat prices remain high with still good demand from the 
wholesale and retail levels.  Several pairs available off one consignment and 
these sold to very good demand.  Total of 254 cows and bulls sold with 36 
percent going to packers.

OKC West - El Reno Livestock Market 
Actual Receipts:  5848      Last Week:  5850       Last Year:  2460
   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers steady to 2.00 higher, most advance on 
850-950 lbs, heavier weights lost the 5.00+ advance from last week.  Steer 
calves 2.00-3.00 higher.  Feeder heifers and heifer calves steady.  Demand 
very good as supplies of feeder cattle somewhat tight for the season.  Several 
cattle available from south of the Red River.  Though many of these were Brahman 
Crosses many were in thin flesh and showed gaunt weight ups and this made the 
difference for their kind.  Heavy rains fell over much of Oklahoma throughout 
the day with up to 3 inches being reported in some areas.  Weigh-ups gaunt to 
average.  Flesh conditions thin to moderate.  Supply included 82 percent over 
600 lbs; 14 percent under 600 lbs; 4 percent cows and bulls.  Total included 24 
percent heifers. 
   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1:  few 400-500 lbs 124.00-130.00, lot
400 lbs fleshy 123.00; 525-600 lbs 115.50-127.50, fleshy 580 lbs 111.00;
600-700 lbs 108.50-114.50; 700-750 lbs 106.50-110.00; 750-800 lbs 105.00-108.75; 
800-850 lbs 103.75-106.50; 850-900 lbs 98.75-101.50, pkg 855 lbs late 103.00; 
900-950 lbs 94.75-99.00; 950-1000 lbs 92.00-95.00; 1000-1035 lbs 90.00.
   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1:  lot 380 lbs 115.00; 425-475 lbs fleshy

77.32.  Iowa-Minnesota .44 hgr at 71.00-81.76, weighted average price 78.21.  
Western Cornbelt .53 hgr at 65.00-81.76, weighted average price 78.32 and the 
Eastern Cornbelt 1.42 hgr at 68.00-79.05, weighted average price 75.62.

   Live Basis (240-280 lbs): National direct barrows and gilt .80 hgr at 47.58-
62.60, weighted average 59.52.  Iowa-Minnesota .47 hgr at 53.07-62.50, weighted 
average 60.32.  Western Cornbelt .70 hgr at 52.74-62.50, weighted average 
60.21.  Eastern Cornbelt 1.05 hgr at 47.58-62.60, weighted average 58.44.

Terminal Markets:
   At Sioux Falls, barrows and gilts .50 higher on a light test with 47-50 
percent lean 220-270 lbs 54.50-55.00.  At St. Joseph, barrows and gilts steady 
with 46-50 percent lean 240-280 lbs 50.50-51.00.

slaughter ewes, 3 percent slaughter bucks, and the balance 
replacements and feeders.

billies, and balance wethers.
