Nov 08, 2009 (BBC Monitoring via COMTEX) -- As part of his visit to Egypt, President Paul Kagame early on Saturday [7 November] visited various Egyptian projects including, the Cairo hydro plant which generates over 1,500 MW, Ramadan industrial city, the vehicle assembling plant, a textile factory and a higher [word indistinct] centre.

According to Orinfor journalists in Cairo following up the president's visit, Rwanda can borrow a leaf from the different initiatives like generating power from wind.

During his visit, President Paul Kagame is expected to meet the business community before heading to Sharm-al-Shaykh to attend and address a China-Africa cooperation forum that starts this Sunday.

During the two-day forum China and Africa plan to issue a declaration and a 2010 to 2012 [word indistinct] action plan and hope to reach a new consensus as they extend views on trade and economic corporation at the forum. The forum was first held in China in 2000 with the venue for the subsequent meetings alternating between China and Africa. The last forum was held in Beijing in 2006.
