Tennessee Feeder Cattle Weekly Summary
Receipts on 16 TN Auctions: 10,375 17 Last Week: 10,100 17 Last Year: 11,175
Trends: According to the Federal-State Market News Service, compared to last week:
Slaughter cows and bulls steady to 2.00 higher. Steers/bulls and heifers steady to 2.00
lower with weights over 600 lbs generally steady to firm, instances 1.00 to 2.00 higher.
Demand moderate to good with a little more downward pressure noted on heifer calves than
steer/bull calves. Several fleshy new crop calves in the mix as of late but not
discounted to the extent normally seen this time of year. These calves typically of
higher quality than some of their thinner counterparts.
Slaughter Cows 1321 head; Bulls 197 head; Total Feeders 8209 head; Feeder supply,
Steers and bulls 4627 head; Heifers 3552; Steers and heifers over 600 lbs 1854;
Replacement and/or feeder cows 653 head.
