Nov 08, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Galaxy Resources with its new lithium mining operation in Western Australia is set to cash in on huge demand for the commodity. It is being used in batteries for electric vehicles in China, with a potentially massive market. Some 75% of the lithium used in China is imported. The commodity will be processed at a Chinese facility near Shanghai. A stake of 19.95% in Galaxy is held by Chinese vehicle Creat Group.
