For the week: Cows and bulls closed the week firm to 4.00 higher as the
domestic and import boneless trade finished the week headed for higher
levels
According to the Des Moines Market News Office: Lean boneless 92 to 94%
5.00 higher; 90% 1.00 to 2.00 higher; 85% sharply higher; 81% steady;
75% 2.00 to 3.00 lower; 73% steady to 4.00 higher; and 65% 2.00 to 4.00
Higher. Beef trimmings higher on light demand and offerings. The weighted average
on 90% lean cashed at 161.79 while the 50% went to 78.49
on 4 trades. The Cutter cow cut-out is estimated to be up .94 at 127.57.
On Wednesday the import trade, with prices trading at record levels,
found 90% cow meat moving at 163.00 to 165.00 and the 95% bull meat
earning 172.00 to 173.00.
