Sugar price up in Kabul

KABUL, May 08, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) -- The price of sugar jumped up in Kabul market while the price of other commodities has seen slight change in outgoing week.

Khan Ali, a retailer in Kart-e-Seh locality of Kabul told Pajhwok Afghan News on Thursday the price of 50 kg sugar increased from 1250 to 1320 afghanis.

However he added the price of 100 kg flour remained on 4200 afghanis as of the previous week.

Khan Ali said the price of a kilo tea on 190, five kg ghee tin can on 490, 50 kg rice on 4000 remained unchanged.

The price of liquid gas varied in various parts of Kabul city from 48 to 52 afghanis per kg.

Sharafudin a gas seller in Kabul city said the price of a kilo gas was 52 afghanis the same as of the last week.

Gas group a private gas distributor set the price 48 afghanis per kg.

Shah Mahmood, fuel seller in Shahr-e-Naw of Kabul city said the price of one litre diesel increased by two afghanis on 46, while petrol remained on 43.

Abdul Basir, jeweler in Shahr-e-Naw said the price of one gram Arabic gold dropped from 1280 afghanis to 1250, while the price of the same amount Iranian gold decreased from 1080 to 1050 afghanis.

The price of afghanis had some changes compare with the previous week

Haji Muhammad Rafi Azimi, a money changer in Shezada market said one dollar was sold on 50 afghanis while 1000 Pakistani rupees was 739 afghanis.

He said the price of dollar was 50 afghanis last week while 1000 Pakistani rupees were 757 afghanis
