Compared to last week at Wyoming auctions feeder steers and heifers were not
well tested. Demand moderate to good. Direct trading slow this week with no
comparison available except for a few steers steady. Demand light. Buyer
inquiry light to moderate on light offerings. Unless otherwise noted direct
prices are current FOB with a 2-3 percent shrink or equivalent and with a 5-10
cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 73 percent of the supply,
heifers 27 percent. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 100 percent. Direct
sales accounted for 415 head of the total receipts.
Steers - Auctions: Medium-Large 1 625-640 lbs 111.00-112.00; 790 lbs
98.00. Large 2 715 lbs 46.00. Direct: Medium-Large 1 FOB Price: 760 lbs 98.00.
Delivered Price: fancy 950 lbs 99.25.
Heifers - Auctions: Medium-Large 1 450 lbs 114.50; 515 lbs 111.00. Medium
and Large 1-2 385 lbs 121.50. Direct: Medium-Large 1 FOB Price: 690 lbs 99.00.
