USDA-GX: Eastern Cornbelt Direct Feeder Cattle

Eastern Cornbelt Direct Feeder Cattle Summary
Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio

Reported sales this week:  902   Last week:  995     Last year:  848

Compared to last week, feeder cattle mostly steady to firm. Field work in much 
of the area along with higher corn prices continues to limit cattle movement. 
Demand light to moderate. Offerings light to moderate. Confirmed sales this week 
were 32% steers and 49% heifers; 19% Holstein steers; with 89% over 600 lbs.  

Feeder steers: Medium and Large 1-2: 500-550 lbs 115.00; 600-650 lbs 102.00-
103.50; 850-900 lbs 92.00.
                     
Feeder Holstein steers: Large 3: 800-850 lbs 70.25; 850-900 lbs 70.50; 950-1000 
lbs 71.20.

Feeder heifers: Medium and Large 1-2: Delivered price: 650-700 lbs 101.50-
103.50. FOB Price: 800-850 lbs 87.00.

Prices are based FOB the farm unless otherwise indicated.
Delivered prices include freight, commissions, and other expenses.
