St. Joseph, MO - Tue May 06, 2008 - USDA-MO Dept Ag Market News
Daily National Grain Market Summary
Wheat closed higher on support from corn and speculator buying. Corn opened
sharply higher but closed off its highs as wet weather and strong outside market
influence from crude oil and gold all closed higher. The planting progress
report was in-line with expectations at 27 percent, with the 5 year average at
59 percent. Soybeans opened higher but closed lower as new crop gained on old
crop. Wheat closed mostly 8-12 cents higher. Corn closed 12-16 cents higher.
Soybeans traded 6-9 cents lower.
