BRIEF: New Mexico man charged after fight at ex-girlfriend's El Paso home

EL PASO, Nov 08, 2009 (El Paso Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- New Mexico resident Albert Rojas was charged with aggravated assault Saturday after police responded to a family fight about 3:30 a.m.

Police said Rojas arrived at the home of his ex-girlfriend in the 10900 block of Chippendale Avenue and allegedly broke the rear window of a 2006 silver Chevrolet Cobalt. He then allegedly drove at his ex-girlfriend's 18-year-old son in a 1991 white Honda Accord and ran over the man's feet before getting out of the car and hitting him with a belt buckle while swinging at him with a belt.

Rojas, 40, then allegedly drove the car at his ex-girlfriend as she tried to help her son. He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal mischief and remained jailed Saturday night in lieu of a $41,500 bond.
